Holiday Attractions around Cincinnati

By Ashlee Foist

It’s the holiday season and there are many festivities to occur despite the Coronavirus. Here are a few of the many popular events happening around Cincinnati…

The first event is very popular with many of us and is probably a tradition for some families. It’s the Cincinnati Zoo’s Festival of Lights! Here’s a little information about the event: the festival is open from November 21st- January 3rd, 2021. Inside the zoo, there are also some mini-events occurring which include; Santa’s Village, A Scavenger Hunt, Letters to Santa, etc.

General Admission is $18 per adult (13-61), $13 per child/senior (2-12/62 and over). Reservations are required.

If you currently possess a Zoo membership, no reservation is required! Masks are also required along with social distancing.

For more information, please visit, http://cincinnatizoo.org/events/festival-of-lights/.

Another popular event is the Holiday Junction at Union Terminal. This ongoing holiday tradition will return to Union Terminal this November throughout the holiday. The Duke Energy Center has sponsored the event since 1946. Starting this year, there is a new addition to the display: the Northern Lights display. If you would like more information about the event, please visit,  https://www.cincymuseum.org/holiday-junction/.

Admission prices for the Holiday Junction are $14.50 per adult and $13.50 per child (3-12).

Memberships can be purchased on their website as well.

There are more rules and regulations to be followed because of COVID-19.

If you are looking for a more engaging event, this one is for you. Ice Skating on Fountain Square has returned. This is an annual event which means that it occurs every year. Due to COVID, there are more safety precautions and regulations to follow. Reservations are required this year and the rink will remain open from November 7th to February 15th. A new attraction has also been added. You now have the chance to experience bumper cars on ice too. Anyone above the age of 7 may operate a car. Only 80 patrons may be on the ice rink at one time. For more information on prices, times, and COVID regulations, please visit https://myfountainsquare.com/

These three events are an example of the many wonderful options to consider throughout the holiday season. For more information or to see a list of other opportunities, please visit https://www.wlwt.com/article/2020-christmas-in-cincinnati-what-s-on-what-s-off-this-holiday-season/34449421.
