JCG’s Canned Food Drive

High school students planned a community service project to donate food to people in Cincinnati experiencing homelessness

Recently, there was a can food drive where Oyler students collected can goods to give for those in need.

This all happened during the month of April and during that time, we saw Oyler students and staff pack care packages.

“The students decided they wanted to do something to help individuals that are experiencing homelessness,” said Ms. Nicks, the Jobs for Cincinnati Grads (JCG) teacher at Oyler.

Ms. Nicks said that they wanted to help 80 people by providing them with pop top can items.

If individuals would like to help, the place to go is The Greater Cincinnati Coalition for Homelessness. You can learn more about them here: https://cincihomeless.org/

“I’m so proud of the students in the Jobs for Cincinnati Grads Program, this started off as a very small community service project and it really grew,” Ms. Nicks said.
