Last week, two Oyler students were featured on WVXU’s Cincinnati Edition regarding their employment at Groundwork Ohio River Valley, a local non-profit focused on environmental sustainability in Lower Price Hill and beyond.
Through Groundwork Ohio River Valley’s Green Team, youth transform their community and themselves by implementing place-based projects focused on environmental sustainability, such as building and maintaining community gardens, plantings to increase the neighborhood’s tree canopy, removing invasive species, increasing programing and greenery at Oyler’s Green Roof, maintaining and greening Lower Price Hill’s newest bike trail
located on River Road known as the “O-Trail”, and more (https://www.groundworkorv.org/).
Aligned to the Lower Price Hill Resurgency Plan, Oyler’s Green Team provides youth with a robust first-time job experience, while also working to implement the related environmental goals and strategies listed in the Plan. Click on the link below to listen to the full interview:
