Brian Talbert has big plans for his scavenger hunt.
“I would really like to do the scavenger hunt every year,” Talbert says. “It will be hard due to COVID, but that’s why we have the internet, right? The scavenger hunt is mainly for seniors but it could be aimed towards other high school students as well.”
The Oyler Scavenger Hunt is an opportunity to have fun and play around in a competition to find the prize. Mr. Talbert is a member of the College Access of Graduation in Cincinnati. He has done one scavenger hunt before, and plans to do more. He also plans to do a scavenger hunt on the three E’s – employ, enlist or enroll; the military and careers.
After discussing a bit more on that topic, we started talking about what exactly the scavenger hunt was made for.
“It was made for preparation,” Mr. Talbert says, “to prepare students for their life after Oyler. I mean, I’m 39 years old. I don’t know what I’m doing for the rest of my life-it changes-but we can’t not be prepared for what’s going to happen after school.”
The scavenger hunt’s prize that students are hunting for is a $25 Amazon Gift card. There are only two left.
They’re are also hunting for knowledge. Students are learning about their futures and what they are going to do after school. They learn about what they are going to be career-wise, in the near future for some students.
