The beginning of the school year is going well, but one important thing is that it’s also volleyball season. There are summer and after school practices that should make for a great season. For Varsity, grades 9-12, with Mr. Dukes as the Coach, the players include Seniors, Captain Kiara Widener and Co-Captain Shamya Reese, Junior Nariah Williams, Sophomore Janesha Cross, and Freshmen Tessa Collins, Lorinna Davis, Kayley Gilday, Dasani Howell, Damya Mincy, Keaura Powell, Jessa Scott, Kelia Stevenson, J’ierre Taylor, Isabella Bellomo and Ka’lija Todd.
One Senior on the team, Kiara Widener, says, “I have high hopes for the 2018 volleyball season and I know it will go well. We have been practicing since summer and have daily practices. All we have to do is work hard and remember that teamwork makes the dream work.” The Lady Madhatter Volleyball Team had the first game, and a loss, on September 4th against Gamble High School. Many more to come.
